If you don't have to know anything about football to run segments of a football club, can I apply? I'm an NHS scientist, so I like to think that makes me even more desirable than a guy who paints the walls!
Ridiculous argument.

Whatever the reason, Tan is clearly not a happy bunny! The appointment of this lad can be taken as a slap in the face for those who have upset him.
I am sure that things will settle down and a more appropriate person will be appointed in due course.......
Tan has too much invested to let the club go t*ts-up........he is merely reminding everyone who's in charge.
As for James Barnett, I think it about time for a relaxing holiday away from all this stress. I understand that Malaysia has a nice climate at this time of year........

I think I need to go to football rehab, it's all too much right now. I wake up and immediately check twitter to see if Malky has resigned/been sacked yet, if I'm out of contact for a couple of hours I'm desperate to check twitter. In work I've got wales online auto refreshing waiting for the story to be published. This is affecting my mental health
The fact they've asked Malky to resign is most definetely the tipping point if the Moody sacking wasnt. You can give me all the crap you like about how he never actually said that, but I've spent enough time around trade unions and top management meetings to know the first rule of management is when asked a question that you know is incorrect you say it is incorrect, but when the answer is yes but you don't want to say that you say 'no comment'. If the whole story was b******ks, he would of said that. He didn't. That is more than enough for me.
I think I just need to hide my head in the sand and cross my fingers when I reemerge we're back playing in blue in the championship and no ones heard of Vincent Tan. So much simpler, and for me happier, times.

Tan reminds me of Littlefinger from Game of Thrones. Intelligent, manipulative and a control freak. Littlefinger plays the houses off against one another to work his way up. Tan is playing pro reds vs pro blues and those in between off against one another for his own eventual gain.
Both of their methods cause chaos. Littlefinger's cause chaos between houses whereas Tan's has caused chaos amongst our fan base. All fans are focused on one another and point scoring just like the houses trying to defeat one another in Game of Thrones.
Plus Tan also loves dragons.
I reckon Tan is just a Game of Thrones addict who is struggling to wait until next year for season 4.

Given that Tan has now said that he is in the process of acquiring 98% ownership, I think we can safely presume that he is in this for the long term.
He has again mentioned the desire to build a club that can remain in the PL for a long time. My guess is that he is less than impressed by a number of things....
The start to the PL season and the obvious deficiencies in the team. I think that might well have been the rationale behind the threatened action on bonuses.
The failure to land primary transfer targets and the wasteful use of at least £5m of the transfer kitty, plus associated wages.....the Iain Moody affair.
He has a huge amount of money at stake here and we do not fully know who, perhaps outside the club, is advising him on football matters. It may be that he has concerns that Malky is not the right man for the job AT THIS LEVEL. I know that I do!

Yep, the groundswell of opinion appears to be that Tan is p*ssed off with the wasteful use of his money on players who are not up to scratch. There also appears to have been significant overspend, when salaries and other fees for the incoming players were counted in.

yup tda i agree that vinnie is nobodys fool and there is no doubt that he has football brains behind his throne. no one can blame him for that, indeed it would be an act of folly if they were not there.
if i were vincent tan, i too would be concerned at our start to the season by performance and results. coupled with that there appears to have been a significant number of recruits that for some reason are perceived as not making the grade.
it would appear td that we are part of a true minority group of those who are a bit concerned over malky at our helm and have yet to have the question answered about being fit for purpose
judgements are being clouded by the re-brand issue instituted by vincent tan and not by performance
