First topic message reminder :
Cardiff City keeper David Marshall has drawn the attention of Derby County as the Rams look to strengthen the goalkeeper position.
Marshall has been with the Welsh club for six seasons following his move from Norwich City back in 2009, and has played over 200 times for Cardiff.
An integral part of the side that won promotion to the Premier League in 2012-13, Marshall’s vast experience would be a huge asset to Derby should they pursue a transfer.
Marshall’s reputation was further increased following his single-season-stint in the Premier League, as he was voted into Sky Sports Team of the Season.
The 30 year-old keeper has also got experience at International level, having played 17 times for Scotland and earning caps at U21 level.
Much will depend on how the season ends for Derby whether Marshall would be partial to a move, although if they achieve promotion a deal for the stopper would be much more plausible.
With one game left to play, Steve McClaren’s men sit two points inside the play-offs, needing just a point to secure their spot due to their superior goal difference over Brentford and Wolves.

You won't see Adeyemi in a City shirt again, he'll either join Leeds permensely or be released next summer. Another talent flushed down the drain by the management just to settle a grudge, in my opinion.

A real shame, but these are strange times.

Amazing, the thread runs to seven pages. However, the whole thing is a bit like Johnny Russell to us. Why would a club sell to a rival?

Heavy speculation that West Brom have enquires about David Marshall, and that we are prepared to sell for the right place.
Devestating if true - he's won us more points than our strikers the last two seasons!

Take the money, I say. He's good, but not that good.

Disagree, if things get tough again this season we need players like Marshall who actually care. Remember the end of the premier league season where heads went down every goal we conceded? Who was one of the only players still shouting at people to keep at it? Marshall. He was making a world class save at least once a match that season, and pretty much every other game this season. We'd of concedes twenty more goals without him, of that I have no doubt.
Although simultaneously, he deserves a decent shot at the premier league after all he has done for us. If he does go, I don't hold it against him.

Not us, but Aston Villa have signed Rudy Gestede. Remember when he couldn't get a place in the squad over Andreas Cornelius?
EDIT: According to transfermrket.co.uk, we sold him for 168K. He just got sold on to Villa for 6 million. Feel a little sick now.

Agree with Red on this one. He wasn't as valuable to us last season, but he was still a standout performer in those early months when things actually mattered.
That said, if we are serious about this cost-cutting and there's a chance of re-investing at least some of the money (Hennessey, anyone?), then I so go for it.
In terms of Gestede, his turnaround in fortunes is something quite remarkable. I remember having the briefest of chats with him outside Barry Town's stadium two summers ago, when he struggled to even make it into the reserve side - now look at him!

The problem was the rest of the team and that we have not created enough chances or scored enough goals. A decent midfield and attack takes the pressure off the keeper and defence.
Agreed, Marshall performed well when we were like ducks in a shooting gallery, but I would rather have the money spent on sorting out the root of the problem (midfield) and put my trust in a very capable keeper in Simon Moore, or even Joe Lewis.
