According to this link -http://lesrosbifs.org/interview-with-joe-yoffe-englands-hottest-striker-playing-in-iceland/
Yoffe has been profilific at his current club. He scored 8 goals in his first six appearances for the club, and scored 7 goals in 9 games prior to his release. He's only 26 years old. In what world does releasing a striker so profilific make any sense?
Sounds to me like he was getting too big for his boots due to the media attention. He refused extensions, and is now throwing his toys out of the pram at getting released instead of being transferred. No sympathy whatsoever.
FIFA will tear it apart. We can't let free agents sign for clubs whenever they like because that would open all sorts of loopholes for dodgy transfers. Why do you think contracts don't expire during transfer windows? To stop clubs bargaining extortionate wages with players in exchange for dodging paying a fee, simply by instructing them to run their contract out. If you could sign these players whenever, it would be rife.
