fast coming to the conclusion that his clumsy and ineffectual tackling should cost him his place in the side as he is no winger and does not appear up for the challenge ahead

The thing is, without him we would surely be even worse off - how many goals and, more appropriately, assists does he have this season?
The midfield clearly isn't working and hasn't done since the first game of the campaign, so something definitely has to change.

We need to harass the football league into developing an American football style setup - different teams for attack, defence and set pieces. Whitts wouldn't be anywhere near the first two but would be first name on the team sheet for the set piece squad. Problem solved
