Only 3 seasons too late, should never have signed him

A frantic OGS purchase
As with Guerra, Burgstaller and many others he was signed as he had a good record but there was no thought about where he would actually play and if that would suit him and consequently whether there was any point purchasing him

Many players seem to do that....
They score goals for fun then join Cardiff and suddenly forget how to put ball in the net

Mainly because we haven't had a good manager for a long time. Neil comes in and Zohore goes on a goal spree. Enough said

Well worth watching this again - pace, power, composure and technique.
Brilliant goal. And with support for Zohore so that he can be given a rest when he's tired we might see him fulfilling his potential

Most were pleased with his signing as with most of OGS other signings, didn't work out along with others, but were they given a fair chance?
OGS obviously failed, but some of the football was good, and if it wasn't for back to back defeats at home to Norwich, after leading 2-0 and Boro, who had one shot on goal, things might have turned out differently.

Agreed, OGS wanted attractive football. But he is far too raw and was unused to having that much money and a transfer committee that had a big say. It was also a 50/50 decision when he went. He wasn't really sacked but lost enthusiasm and walked, which Tan felt was the right decision and didn't talk him out of.
I simply think we have the best manager in my lifetime and while we aren't dropping massive money for players all over the place like Derby and Villa, I actually feel more comfortable with the players we are signing/being linked to.
There does at least seem to be a consistency of thought and a broader view of the squad as a whole rather than just buying "good" players and slotting them in wherever.

Exactly. I remember Le Fondre being played wide left in order to crowbar him into the same team as Kenwyne. And poor old Guerra and Burgstaller, fantastic players, were signed then given a microscopic amount of game time then judged not suitable and farmed out again. Yet Burgstaller, since leaving City, has goalscori g record from midfield of 0.53 goals per game for Schalke in the Bundesliga while Guerra has a record of 0.34 goals per game for poor teams in La Liga, showing he can get goals even in a poor team.
Ah, contracted to Freiburg but loaned out to St Pauli. Doesn't seem like he's getting an awful lot of game time though:
