Le Fondre was set to join Chris Powell’s Huddersfield Town, as reported on FLW, however this move has failed to materialise and he is now set to join Neil Lennon’s Bolton Wanderers.
The 28-year-old has made 23 appearances for Cardiff City, scoring three goals, since joining from Reading last summer.
The forward has an abundance of experience in the Football League, having plied his trade for Stockport County, Rochdale, Rotherham United, Reading and Cardiff City.
Le Fondre is renowned for his clinical ability to score within the penalty are, scoring numerous goals for hometown club Stockport County, Rochdale and Rotherham United in the lower midsts of the Football League.
He continued his goalscoring prowess with Reading, scoring 12 goals in his debut season, helping The Royals to return to the Premier League.
He matched his goal tally in the top division before scoring 15 goals on his return to the Championship.
If Bolton do complete the signing of the striker, he would not be eligible for the club’s FA Cup fixture against Liverpool on Saturday.
Meanwhile, Crystal Palace look set to raid Neil Lennon’s side for winger Lee Chung-Yong, as reported on FLW.
Chung-Yong’s contract expires during the summer and Bolton look set to cash in on him now, with the fear he won’t sign on for the Trotters for the next few years.
This has subsequently alerted new Eagles manager Alan Pardew, who is now preparing a bid for the talented mildfielder
