First topic message reminder :
Even after the poor display at Birmingham, I don't think we will see many changes. Maybe Gunnarsson & Damour back in midfield, but I can't see this as a game for Lee Tomlin.
Wouldn't be surprised if we did get something from this, as we seem to do better against the fancied teams. Perhaps they concentrate more on their own game than trying to stop us playing?
1 - 1 draw

We should have had a pen earlier in the game according to Wales Online as well. Hopefully we will hold out now.
Preston also right back in it against Wolves

Apart from a dopey moment between Manga & Etheridge right at the end, City saw that game out very competently.
In truth it should have been 2 - 0 at least.
ML back to his best, an absolute pain in Boro's defence and won the penalty.
Ward was very tidy and worked hard, but it was the 3 CBs that caught my eye - truly excellent. With Paterson & Bennett either side of them, we have some back 5.

It feels like we have faltered form wise of late, yet we are still second in the league, have the third best goal difference and joint fewest number of losses. We may not be stuffing teams but we do seem to be able to grind out enough points to keep us towards the top of the league and that’s good going considering how some people were feeling about the summer recruitment and low spending

That was a tricky run of 8 games with international breaks at both ends. Those "rests" coincided with our worst performances, so to me, were real momentum breakers.
Nevertheless, our form over the first 13 games would multiply out at 95 points over the entire season.

95 points? Since the 2004-05 season, only three teams have bettered that number. Reading (106) in 05-06, Newcastle (102) in 09-10 and Leicester (102) in 13-14. That’s an impressive number of points. We only managed 87 under Malky
Well, being able to grind out a result is the hallmark of a promotion winning side. That said, there's far too much football to be played yet for us to get too excited right now.

Ah yes, the early Slimfrog explosion. Safe to say I’m always left satisfied though, which is the main thing
