First rule of launching match day thread......never predict a defeat!
However, relieved of that burden, I can, hand on heart, say that I expect City to lose this one 0 - 1. Dogged defensive display, 30% possession, no hope of a goal from open play and last minute winner by Adomah.

Middlesbrough v Cardiff City
Known as boro they were founded 139 years ago in 1876. They played at ayresome park for 92 years before moving to the riverside which has a capacity of 34,742 in 1996.
It is curious that the early Middlesbrough was blue and white before switching to red and white with the crest being a lion.
For the dedicated fan kick-off is at 1945 and it is expected to be a cold, but sunny day with temperatures around freezing.

Thanks Dave - a lovely bit of history there. Almost a 'classics fm' take on the prematch thread.
Right team, almost unchanged from Saturday with the exception of Harris in for Le Fondre.
I would like to see Gunnars dropped and Joe Ralls given a go.
The best we can hope for is a draw as far as I can tell

Will it be déjà vu tonight?
Ole was sacked after the back to back defeats by Norwich & Boro.

Boro is a much better team these days.
They will outplay Cardiff tonight unfortunately.
Slades tactics will be the same.

thanks rhys. used to do a similar pre-match thread elsewhere, but in greater depth. mrs been unwell so have been rather busy. i gave up trying to load-up a picture of the riverside. everyone i wanted must have had a copyright. said something like oh dear and went to bed at midnight.
not wishing to tread on toes, only did it as i thought arkay or whoever had forgotten we had a match tonight.
merge it if you wish

I dont want to jinx anything, but I just discovered how to successfully merge topic - it only took me a year. Im now feeling optimistic about the result as well
Oh, and team should be -
Moore
Brayford, Morrison, Connolly, Malone
Noone, Gunnarrson, Adeyemi, Ralls, Harris
Revell
Probably the toughest midfield trio we can assemble right now. Nothing glamorous about it - outmuscle their midfield to support our defence, then get the ball out to the wings and get into the box.

A busy day all round today.
The U21 won at QPR 2-0 this afternoon - Danny Johnson (again) and Tom O'Sullivan.
The U18 play at Burnley tonight in the 4th round of the FA Youth Cup.
The third team are at Middlesborough as we know.
