Our striking options just gained a big boost! Celtic have declared no interest in extending Jo Inge Berget's loan period beyond January, so he'll be linking up with us in the new year!

Celtic are apparently not taking up the option to purchase that they have, so yet another OGS signing fails to cut it in a mediocre league and we are left to pick up his wages.

This could be Slade's problem as far as having a January clearout is concerned. He might want to offload a lot of players but will any other club be interested in signing them on a good enough contract to make those generally overpaid and underperforming players want to leave?

The alternative is to pay up the contracts and sever by mutual consent. That cost, of course, would have to be offset against anything available towards new players.
It really has been shocking financial management in the past two years.
Also, where had Mehmet Dalman gone? Presumably no longer in Tan's good books?

For a brief time i believed that he would be the steadying hand on the tiller. It hasn't really worked out that way at all.

Am I right in thinking Joe Mason comes back in January?

We have the option to bring him back if we wish, yeah.
On the subject of Jo Inge Berget - he'll no doubt be at a new club in January, which will lead to a nice little earner for agent Jim Solbakken.

What? You suspect a "OleSolbakkengate", after "MalkyMoodygate"? What suspicious minds these jounos have......I blame Dustin Hoffman & Robert Redford.

Attacking midfielder, that's what we need. We are missing Jordon Mutch much more than Gary Medel or Steven Caulker.

He is indeed an attacking midfielder, or a 'second striker' if you'd prefer. I'm good mates with a Molde fan who has come along to a few Development games with me. I paid close attention to Berget and he played decent in each game, without setting the world alight. I thought he'd do well in the SPL, but clearly not.
