This might not tickle everyone's fancy (although I know we've got some Eno fans out there) but after hearing Karl Hyde's new tune (see New Music Thread) it got me thinking about the more ambient music I enjoy. Here's one that I often drift off to sleep listening to...

Here's another. In fact, this whole album by French Teen Idol is an absolute cracker and has accompanied me on many Nightbus journeys home through the dark and grimy streets of Peckham and New Cross.

Some cracking tunes tonight!! This one might be considered a bit too funky to be "Ambient" but I'm really hooked on "The Field's" work and I offer it as a "close association!"

It's OK in my book NN2 - i much prefer to see the idea and spirit of ambience taken to new places which includes pace and beats and structue than the bastard offshoot of Ambience which is New Age Music.
Of course it is Arkay's thread so he can have the final say on what is ruled in and out
