My Mum made me wear one on school photo day, along with a purple jumper which had belt loops......I'm not mentally scarred by it, I'm not really.... I'm not. I've learned to live with it....really I have.
I'm a pretty open minded bloke but.....WHAAAT THE FAAACK!!??
I googled it and nothing came up, SBM is literally the only person to have worn one of these ever.
It would have been about 1975. Besides without the belt loops my belt would slip down, and that really would look stupid.
That jumper was just the tip of the iceberg, as a child I was dressed in some really wierd gear which were nearly always man made fibres. These days I would be considered a fire hazard and probably be banned from petrol station forecourts.
Are you sure you didn't have a purple version of the famous Starsky knitted jacket?
Sadly not, that may have been just a bit too cool. My Mum didn't do cool, it was a round neck with a belt.

When I was about 13 I went to a wedding in a chocolate brown 3 piece pin stripe suit (flared trousers, obviously) and a massive big silky tie. But I wasn't allowed cuff links - choking hazzard.
