Marshall

McNaughton Hudson Turner Taylor

Cowie

Kyung ----------------- Noone

Whittingham

Maynard Bellamy

Cowie is good enough in midfield. He is a busy body who can run at players and disrupt and break up their play. Whittingham needs to be played more advanced to create. Noone is a tricky customer and Kim Bo can interchange with both Whittingham and Noone to create and deliver balls into the box. Bellamy will drop deep to hook up with the midfield which you need. Rooney does it for United and that's why they are so successful attacking. Tevez does it for City. Its one of the reasons we've struggled so far and have resorted to long ball because when we have got the ball into the midfield we can't play in and around the strikers. We have that link now in the right formation.

If Bellamy does retire or whatever then we should play the same formation but with Helguson in Bellamy's place. He is very clever and I can see him linking up well and playing Maynard in with clever balls which is what we need. Also he drags defenders out leaving more space.

The problem so far will be summed up in my blog post later going more in depth and what I believe the answer is. The diamond formation is key 833362651 The diamond formation is key 833362651 The diamond formation is key 833362651

How long do fans realistically have to wait to see the best out of all these new signings.

We need the points now after only getting 4 out of the first 9 & with wolves and leeds coming up we dont want to lose to much ground on the competition.

Sorry, I would choose Gunnar and Mutch over Cowie. In fact, Don would struggle to hold down a seat on the bench if I were in charge.

I chose Cowie based on the fact Malky must play him for some reason. The diamond formation is key 692773407

I wouldn't personally have Cowie in the team either but we know Malky won't drop him so thats why I put him in.

Cowie is good played in the right position, which isn't the right wing. Malky must think Cowie is the next coming of Ronaldo or something. The diamond formation is key 692773407

Yeah, Malky seems to love the guy. He is a good player, don't get me wrong, but he, imo, is the weak link in the starting 11.

Apart from the Bristol game, Mutch has looked absolute quality and I'm sure he will become a very important player for us over the coming season.

The squad rotation version is possibly as mouthwatering as this first team. Replacing every member of the midfield and attack, you could still come out with this -

-----------------------Mutch---------------------------
--------Conway-----------------Kim-------------------
-----------------------Smith----------------------------
-----------------Mason-------Velikonja----------------

Just as intimidating IMO. The only thing I'd raise CB39 is I wouldn't play Noone, Kim AND Bellamy simultaneously, as I just exhausts all of our left wingers at once. If save a few for a rotation, like in mine I conserved Kim.

And of course we now have Nicky Maynard, who Darcy Blake had indicated we would be signing last week!
