This would be a good signing. Good experienced striker to compliment Velikonja and Mason. Should be good for 10-15 goals.

Either you've been paralysed by a curare dart... or we don't particularly need a 34 year old striker on a freebie from QPR... Have you seen any little tanned fellas running around with reed pea shooters lately... I thought not

If his wage demands are reasonable he'll be a decent addition. He may of only appeared 16 times last season but he scored 9 times, which is very decent. My issue is though, why the hell are we still looking at small strikers? I think that position is pretty much filled in our squad. I want a tall target man, damn it.

I don't know what to think about this to be honest. I thought he was very good for qpr last season and 9 goals in 14 starts is unbelievable. Warnock often picked him before bothroyd and he's definitely a player suited to the championship. I think he'd be a good option for us though.
The only reason i'd be a little disappointed is cos this could mean we're not after nicky maynard

I get plenty of growth supplement adds in my inbox, I'll send some to Malky.

I don't think signing a 34 year old on a likely one-year contract fits the current profile of the squad. The plan seems to include signing good young players who have the potential to get even better.

Completely agreed, it doesn't make sense really. Bellamy is the marquee signing to satisfy the doubters, but this one is completely out of the blue. It's also from a paper who's reputation is..shaky...to say the least.
Saying that... Wales Online reckon its not just a rumour but is actually a done deal, finalised today as long as the medical goes smoothly. Huh.

I'd prefer Boothroyd.

A bit old now, and not sure if he still plays but will be better than Bothroyd.

Could be a very useful squad player. I see that Malky knows him from Watford days, so guess he has the right attitude.

He could be an interesting twist in our play style, and paired with another striker he could be damaging. He's very different to the rest of our strike force, who are small nimble players. Helguson on the other hand is a battering ram that can shove defenders out of the way and create space. He demands defenders full attention for this reason, and that can make space for Etien or Mason.
If it stays this way, I see us still playing with two strikers and two wingers in a 4-2-2-2 formation. I still think though we have too much quality in our midfield to waste it and it should be five strong, with a lone striker. If for example we got Jordan Rhodes, he fits perfectly into my idea. If we don't get anymore strikers now, stick with two strikers.

I'm slightly underwhelmed if this is true.
He's 35 in a few weeks if his Wiki D.O.B. is correct.
A bit of backup for when Ronaldo and Messi are rested for the League Cup I suppose.
