Have to say after watching sponsor-free shirts at the world cup, that this lot would look far better without the endorsements.

Advertising is a strange beast. I wonder, before looking at link, how many of those sponsors people would remember just by naming the club carrying their brand. Also how many people watch a game of football and see Veho on the front of one of the shirts and feels a sudden urge to ignore the game and go out and buy themselves a film scanner (or whatever else they may produce).
I guess the affect is meant to be more gradual. Make a name recoginisable and then when people go out to buy they will choose you over a competitor. Whether that actually works well enough to justify some of the huge team and personal sponsorship deals is open to debate.

City's kit manufacturer is Cosway Sports, a Tan owned company that has only existed for a month, has it's offices registered as the City stadium and has a Malaysian director. Bit of a strange one, although perhaps he is trying to recoup some money by manufacturing the kits himself?
