Are we going to be state sponsored?

" maybe this time the Malaysian government through Tourism Ministry joining in as our sponsor,"

http://www.bernama.com/bernama/v7/sp/newssports.php?id=944595

Will this bring about State Sponsorship wars with Wales deciding to sponsor the Jacks to show they can do the same ?

Not surprising since Tan had had every dignity from the far East over...I think we should expect to see a bit more investment coming through from that part of the world

I think the WAG should foster better business links between Malaysia and Wales by joining in the state funding of us. Any support of Swansea would be seen as an insult to the Malaysians and jeopardise potential jobs for Wales and actual jollies for AMs.

There is no doubt that Tan is a canny businessman. I am sure that having Malaysia on the shirts for two years already was part of a plan to approach the government & tourism industry over there for sponsorship, once the club made it to the Premier League.

As an aside, the reference to the Millenium Stadium at the end of the article was a minor disappointment.......

Loved this bit at the bottom of the article...

The Cardiff City FC gained promotion to the top flight league after a scoreless draw against Charlton Athletic at the Millennium Stadium on Tuesday.

According to that short article: The league has been renamed as the English Premier League. Swansea have been in that division for "a long time". Cardiff City play at the Millennium Stadium.
