Just read the following on AAMB, Regards to Cornelius and the fees involved.... anyway whats ya thoughts...??
The conversion rate has changed since the transfer.
As we both now, in reality the scout (Moody) recommends the player to the manager (Malky), who in turn decides whether he would like him and then passes his recommendation to the CEO (Lim). From there he decides on what the club can afford and the offer is made to the selling club and the agent/player concerned.
Now Lim/Tan have gone public to state that Moody/Malky were entirely responsible for the signing of Andreas Cornelius and then also the finances that went with the deal!
Ok, if Moody and Malky were responsible, then they would deal in GBP. Malaysia as a country, not just Tan but internationally deal in American dollars, so, lets look at the breakdown.
Wages at £45 a week. Why £45k? Why not a round figure of £50k?
£45k in American dollars is $75k a week! A ROUND FIGURE!
£863k agents fee? In American dollars that $1.5m! A ROUND FIGURE!
£1.25M signing on fee? In American dollars that is $2m! A ROUND FIGURE!
£7.668M Transfer fee? In American Dollars that is $13m, add to that the signing on fee of
$2m = a total transfer fee of $15m! A ROUND FIGURE!
Therefore, it is too much of a coincidence that all these figures are rounded up nicely in American dollars to suggest it was non other than Lim/Tan who took care of the financial offerings of the deal.

Actually the whole thing is b*llocks. The poster isn't using a standard ratio, he's altering it in every example. At times it's 1.6, then nearly 1.8, etc, etc.

Actually, this isn't quite true either........
Tan is on record more than a year ago saying that he trusted M&M completely in the transfer market. The negotiations for Cornelius may well have been in $US, as the money would have been provided from Malaysia, but that is not the point.
The point is that Tan was prepared to underwrite M&M's recommendations in the market, so regardless of a player costing £20m, it would have been automatically signed off by Simon Lim or Tan or whoever. What has upset everybody, i.e. the shareholders and Tan, is the shocking waste of that money on players who were not of Premier League standard.
That is why we have had a statement declaring that all transfer dealings in the future will be vetted by the entire board.

Quite right TDA. All this stuff about the overspend being Lim's fault is nonsense because they were simply paying for Malky's requested signings on his recommendation. As non football people that's all they would have to go on. I presume our current Chairman wasn't in place at the time because I doubt he would have approved it.

I would recommend a Liverpool style transfer committe, whereby transfers are discussed and ratified by a small group of people. This would consist of:
Chairman- Mehmet Dalman
Chief Executive- Simon Lim
Director of Football- not yet appointed
Manager- OGS
Chief Scout- John Vik
This would be preferable to the manager approaching Lim, who doesn't know what a football looks like, and advising that X player is worth £Y as a number of people would be able to assess the players worth
