From the man himself, we put in a bid of 4 million (The highest of all the offers received) but the club turned it down. It sounds like he would of come though if it was accepted. Thats what 'You just have to respect the decision, put your head down and get on with it' translates to in my book, anyway.

I have to say, I'm particularly pleased that we didn't get him. I felt he was over-rated at the time and I'm not sure he is much better now. Would have rather kept Maynard to be honest, especially now that we also have a decent target man

I would say McCormack seems to have developed a lot and he is absolutely prolific in a mediocre Leeds team at present. The general feeling about Maynard is that he's a great Championship player but not quite good enough for the Prem

McCormack has definitely developed as a player - I would've liked to have seen him back here. Bagged a hat-trick last week and caused mayhem amongst the Spurs defence (and scored a belter) when Leeds played them in the cup not so long ago.

I remember you said Rhys that he scored an awful lot of penalties, but so did Whittingham in his top scoring season and strikers are MEANT to score penalties.

NOT THAT WE EVER FECKIN' GET ANY!
