According to the Turkish press, he has been in discussions concerning the manager's role at Cardiff, don't know how much substance there is in this story.

"It wouldn't be right for me to say anything while the club in mention [Cardiff City] have a manager but we have been in contact" Vural said.

Yılmaz Vural has been tipped to take over as the next manager of Cardiff City.

"It wouldn't be right for me to say anything while the club in mention [Cardiff City] have a manager but we have been in contact" Vural said.

"Also I have been approached by two clubs in the lower league, it's a case of waiting now."

The latest developments follow an article in the Daily Mail which linked Vural with a move to England.

"Everyone in the world looks up to the Premier League and around the world everyone tries to take something from English football," Vural said speaking to the Daily Mail.

"It is the professional game at its highest. Everyone is in love with it and in Turkey we are in love with it."

Cardiff City's Turkish Cypriot chairman Mehmet Dalman is reported to have met with Vural according to the Turkish press.

The Bluebirds earned promotion to the Premier League following winning the 2012-13 Championship league title.

Cardiff are currently in 15th position and are managed by Malky Mackay.

Vural is also being linked with Sheffield United - the Shields are currently in 18th place in League One and have a Turkish director.

Another club the 60-year-old is understood to have received interest from is Portsmouth who are struggling in League Two.

Vural is a controversial figure in Turkish football, the experienced manager has coached 22 clubs and is well known for his touchline antics

I was expecting an appointment along the lines of 'Arry Redknapp, Dick Advocaat or Hiddink...someone who wouldn't be around long term, but would guarantee results. Surely a good proposition for a football club? Better than some pub football team coach?

Agreed, a named manager who may get fans onside, (although I do think it will take a while if malky left)

Steve Borley has tweeted "Some utter crap doing the rounds on MB's and media about our manager which is utter B******* with a capital B on the eve of a big game"
Also when asked if there was any truth in the rumour he said "None whatsoever".
Shocking stuff from WalesOnline.

I find it distasteful that they have run with something that has so little foundation. A bit disappointing

Had anyone on here heard of the Southampton manager before he came to the Premier League?

I'm just making the point that just because a manager may not be well known doesn't automatically mean that he's no good.

I don't blame WalesOnline for running the story, it was a valid quote... shame it had no substance to it!
