We seem to have a very wide spread of musical tastes on this board.... and we do obscure and mainstream very well... So if you had to pick 1 album, and 1 album only, to listen to for he rest of your life what would it be.... No greatest hits please gentlemen
I would like to say something cool like Revolver, Pet Sounds, Nevermind or London Calling... Which are all brilliant... But for me it would have to be Lexicon of Love by ABC

Tough to answer the original question. Nevermind, Fear of a Black Planet, OK Computer, Purple Rain, Three Feet High and Rising, Superunknown, Songs From A Room all in consideration but I'd probably go for Nirvana.

For the greatest, probably something like the live soundtrack of "Woodstock", as that was unique.
For personal favourite, i.e. most played, probably Dire Straits - Brothers in Arms, anything by Al Stewart or Who's Next.
Much as I love The Who, I have always thought the albums very patchy, with the exception of that one.......contains John Entwistle's greatest contribution, "My Wife".....wonderful lyrics!
You and me both TDA though for me depending on what mood I'm in it might be Meaty Beaty Big and Bouncy or Quadrophenia or then again Live at Leeds!
From the non Who stable it might be Heavy Weather or even the Last Record Album by Little Feat.
Truth is so much brilliant stuff is out there and we should enjoy it all!
The older you get the more eclectic your tastes, the more varied your collection. We have been well blessed with wonderful music for so long now

So many contenders over the years, all for different reasons but if i had to pick one on it's musical content it would have to be Fleetwood Mac's Rumours, everthing on that album was musically flawless.
