Amoebi on loan and a youngster who is unlikely to be a first team regular and we're over halfway through July. Doesn't exactly scream ambitious, does it?

No need to worry, I'm sure our Russ has got a plan in place to ensure we get only the best available players in
Alfie is on his way out according to BBC Wales Sport. Agreement with club that he won't play for city again so is hoping for a move, either loan or permanent. Probably get him off the books so that someone else can come in.

I wonder whether Slade is taking a chance in hoping that Digkacoi gets his act together? To be fair, if he does, then it could well sort out the midfield problem. On the other hand, Digkacoi apparently looked well off the pace against the Shrews.............his second half-game in a few days.

There is talk that we are close to signing a youngster and an experienced striker (we haven't got many of those!). There is also a rumour that it may be Andy Keogh aaaargh.

We need a midfield presence. Two really - the muscle that Dikgacoi can provide if fit and then someone who is comfortable in the ball and can play other people in.
We've seen that we have strikers that can finish chances when provided them - Macheda stands out and also Doylr is clinical. The problem is they aren't given enough of them. Mason looks like he is going to improve that problem purely by his movement causing defences problems, but add someone else capable of beating his man and playing in someone else through the space and we are looking good.
Alas, a ball playing midfielder doesn't seem to of even brushes Slades radar.
