Strange appointment. Then again, he's probably desperate to get back into football and may be cheaper than some of the unemployed alternatives.

Oh how wonderful, the return of one of the people I hate most in football. It could only get worse if he signs Lee Bowyer, Joey Barton and Alan Tate and appoints Roy Keane as Director of Football

A marriage made in heaven.

Good luck to him, he's taken on what's going to be a real struggle, but he doesn't necessarily need huge amounts of money to build an effective squad.

He may not come across as the most pleasant person, but he is a damned good manager and City could have done worse but to have gone for him last January.

Oh the insanity!

Can you imagine the s**t storm that would have stirred up? The then most popular manager in our history sacked and replaced by warnock!

I think he pretty much ruled himself out with the comments he made about Tan!

I know that, but managers don't have to be popular to get a job done. Warnock, might have been someone, like Pulis, who could have kept us up.

The true irony is what we know now about Malky and his dealings........Warnock appears a saint in comparison............ Warnock 3392635135

Agreed, but Warnock deserves better recognition than he gets.

I can't forget the time he was Sheffield United manager ad a game started slipping away from him badly, so he told his players to deliberately get sent off. Or when he said that Chris Kirkland made a meal out of being slapped in the face by a Leeds fan on the pitch during a game.

I'd clarify that he's a good Championship manager, he's never cut the mustard at top level and can't see him doing it this time either.
