............it should do, but never hurts to spell things out for some of our lurking guests.........  

They wouldn't disrupt Kerslake by announcing him before the Arsenal match, but I would then expect it before the close of the week. Tan will want to ensure we can move fast in the January window, and that means getting the right man in ASAP.

Dragging on much longer would drag in the worrying scenario from the media that Tan has started picking players for us. And no one would want to hear that, especially Tan.

Someone needs to be in place in time for West Ham at home on 11th Jan.

Yeah, as Red said it could be disruptive to announce anything before the Arsenal game. Ideally we'd have everything in place already, and it'll be announced after the game.
The new manager will have some decisions to make over who's brought in, and who (if anyone) is leaving. To make those decisions properly, he'll need to spend some time with the players.
