It's ridiculous this. It's against the FA rules for a manager to discuss a referee prior to a match, and both managers did exactly that in their press conferences. Neither of them said anything bad however, and both highlighted that they have the upmost confidence the referee will do his job properly.

Since when was being nice about a referee considered a disciplinary offence?

That is a tad bit annoying if he does - perhaps malky is not aware of the rule?

This is another case of a newspaper making a headline to attract attention. "Cardiff vs Swansea: Malky Mackay and Michael Laudrup could be punished after referee comments"
They didn't even report the full comments from the managers. I doubt if the authorities will even give this a second glance.

I'll often defend the newspaper in an argument like this, but you're right... This really is a nothing story.
