Man I am gutted.

The boys worked so hard but if there is ever a game to show the golf between the quality of our team and one of the best, it was today.

The golf Rhys? Pretty sure if our centre backs had a four iron each we wouldn't have conceded and we all know Bellers is handy with a club...

So true, but we will have better days and more luck along the way. Also maybe time to let Mutch have a go and rest Gunnars....

Gunnar was critical in shutting out Tottenham's defence for so long. He doesnt do it as glamorously as Medel, but without him I think we would of struggled a lot more. Yes in attack he was lacklustre, but he's being played as a DEFENSIVE midfielder. Critiscising a player that got stuck into their role all match long but messed up a shot is like critiscising a goalkeeper for being sluggish running down the wing.

It's strange, I felt more gutted dropping points in The Championship than I did today. Probably due to expectation, etc. Saying that, conceding a late goal against Hull, Palace, Sunderland, etc will probably feel like a knife in the heart!

I am certainly not criticising Gunnarsson, but I firmly believe that he is a player that needs a rest every half dozen games or so, as he puts so much into the team's cause over 90 minutes. We have an able deputy in Mutch.

The worrying statistic from today is again no shots on target from 6 efforts for our boys. Spurs has twice as much possession, but managed a staggering 29 shots with 12 on target.

We are going to struggle badly this season if every game become a Rourkes Drift type of rearguard action..........come on boys "Men of Harlech.........."

We really have struggled to get shots away ever since Malky changed to our current formation. Look at the last ten games from last season even - We really struggled to score

We have only managed to win three times in our last fifteen games I believe!

Perhaps Malky needs to rethink our tactics when approaching the final third as currently one loan striker is not creating enough real opportunities.

We really need to see what happens when a beatable team show up at the CCS. Though to be honest, looking at the schedule up until Christmas, the easiest options we have are Newcastle and Swansea...Forum match day chat room will be open from 15:45 tomorrow - Page 2 2854552383

Malky fundamentally sets up to not lose rather than to go all out to win. That's why he's famously not keen on flair players, he picks squads of players that are technically competent if a little starved of imagination. I reckon Kim is as flairy as we will get under Malky, we're highly unlikely to ever get a player who's not afraid of pulling out fancy footwork.

It's a high risk strategy, purely because if a team that's set up to defend is suddenly forced to fight then it doesn't tend to end well. As TDA said before the match, I also admire Spurs' 'we'll just aim to score more than we concede' tactics, because before anything else it's fun to watch.

This isn't a negative post, Malky should be praised as so far he's gone above and beyond anything we could of asked thus far. But, imagine me whispering this, there are times when we have ten men sat behind the ball with 30% posession that I wish we played more like Swansea.
