More Stéphane Mbia rumours on twitter. It would make more sense than Kapow. Kapow would cost more and doesn't really want the move. Mbia can also play centre back and full-back.

Does FIFA or FM2013 confirm this??
While we're on the subject, I used to sign Mbia on an old version of Pro Evo and play him in the holding role. He had great pace and strength and was super cheap.
I'm sure Red or Rhys can confirm though...

I won't believe his positional ability until it has been confirmed on a recent version of FIFA. Until then, I can assume the youtube clips, wikipedia and transfermarkt.com are incorrect

It is madness i know to put to much store in newspaper rumours and twitter chattering but we are being linked in some reports to both Huddlestone and Mbia and also as still being interested in Moreno.
Mbia can play centre half and indeed played in that position with some acclaim while at Marseille. To me, the names we are being linked (along with Cheryshev), suggest that Malky's top 3 priorities before a left back might be center midfield, wing and ANOTHER centre half.
Interesting if this was to actually happen then Caulker alongside Mbia with Huddlestone sitting in front as a holding midfield player could make us pretty solid through the middle.
Of course we may be wanting only one of Huddlestone or Mbia and the ongoing and only occasional link to Moreno now might be rubbish.
Either way, throwing in the still not dead but feeling that way potential signing of Capoue, it would be be great to come through this week and go into our last friendly before the season starts with at least one of these names tied up.

I'll take Huddlestone from that lot and be happy, even if no-one else arrived. I think that with Taylor, Lappin & Declan John, the left back position will be okay.
With the 25 man squad rule, there isn't much room for arrivals, at least not without pruning of more senior players. Nugent and maybe Ralls out on loan will make no difference, as both are under 21.

I may be wrong with Lappin but i have never felt from the moment he signed that he would be part of a 25 man Premier squad. I think he was signed purely as temporary cover for the left back position while we tried to secure promotion. A position he doesn't seem to have played most of his career in being regarded more as a midfielder who can also play full back.
Maybe we won't spend a lot of money in signing someone in that position and Malky might even surprise me by going just with Taylor and John for the season (Kev could play there too) but i still wouldn't be too surprised to see that position strengthened before the transfer window closes.

i suspect that mbia would be cheaper than huddlestone as he is the last year of his contract and less injury prone????????
