BBC just announced that Nicky scored a hat trick in an in-house friendly this week. No more details but sounds encouraging whatever.

very pleased for the lad, long term injuries are terrible and must be awful for the players, i wouldn't wish it on worst of our enemies.
would be lovely to see him again this season, even if it's just 20 minutes

Do we really want to risk him this season?

If he's 100% ready, definetely. Every game we play in the premiership will be harder than what we've had the far, and I feel he'd greatly benefit from getting a chance to calibrate his shooting boots in games that are now pretty unimportant, rather than have him still lacking match practice at the start of the premiership season, where it's vital to get going quickly.
If he's more like 80 or 90% fit then you're right, don't risk it.

I guess it'll be a medical call but it was be horrible if it all goes wrong for the lad when the main season objective has been achieved....

Possible run-out against Hull, if all goes well, according to Malky:
