Where has it been all season?
The answer is that Mutch has been injured, but now that he is fit, what a combination he offers with Kimbo....
Kimbo now has someone he can rely on to lay the ball off to who plays on the same level as him. He's been playing on a different plane to everyone else until Mutch returned fit and raring to go.
Where it leaves Whitts, I am not sure. For so long the jewel in the crown and obviously still a fantastic player that other teams will covert, there will need to be an alternative midfield system that can utilise his skills to the best.......any suggestions?
I am mindful that we also have Filip Kiss and Joe Ralls in the wings.
All in all, I don't think we'll need much more for the Premiership in the midfield area..........although Rambo could be a useful addition to the squad.

It may well be that Whitts natural game (what I call "the Quarterback") will be better suited to the Premiership, in which case it's a win-win situation....

Unfortunately, going forward, Mutch-Gunns-Kim is the best central three we have on form and balance, maybe even ability. I really think, in relation to potential, those three are nowhere near what they are capable of achieving and will be pivotal to us remaining in the Prem next year. We need to build the team around them! Unfortunately for Whitts, I think he is best served as a rotation option for Kim and Mutch.

I don't think we have seen Kim and Mutch play with Whitts in the middle 3. IMO PW offers so much more than Gunnarson.
However, it is strangely vindicating that Malky has at the death realized that we need 3 in the middle to combat the overunning we have experienced relentlessly over the past 2 years!

But Mutch-Kim-Whitts is very creative and flairful but lacks the doggedness and aggression Gunns brings. Early in the season City struggled until Gunns came into the team and offered the midfield some much needed bite and we haven't looked back since!

I'm sure it was actual. Malky is a big fan of Mutch and had he been fit he'd have built the midfield around him.

Whitts back out on the left maybe? He had his best season out there didn't he?

I think he scored 11 or so out left a few years ago. There is a lot of competition out left though, as Bellers and Noone play there although I expect Conway to move on in the summer. It would also allow us space in the squad to bring in Rambo as a central midfield option...?!
