First topic message reminder :

I think a return to a more conservative approach with this line up, particularly if Campbell is injured...

Marshall
Connolly Barnett Turner Taylor
Bellamy Mutch Whitts Kimbo Conway
Helguson

Gunnarsson to take a well desreved breather on the bench....

I fancy Mutch to finally hit the target, so 2 - 0 City........

Not sure where everyone was today.....me included.... ***Official Match Day Thread, Udinese Reserves v City*** - Page 4 3392635135

Just for the record, I am still unbeaten with my match day threads.....***Official Match Day Thread, Udinese Reserves v City*** - Page 4 2294057153

According to my calculations, City need eight more points to be certain of auto promotion, but I think we won't need quite so many as Watford will certainly drop points in the next few games......

I don't mind a dour performance like that in the circumstances. Looked better in the first half when legs were fresher, but a good team performance..... ***Official Match Day Thread, Udinese Reserves v City*** - Page 4 1525230823

Yep, cracking point well-earned. Not long to go now, games are running out for the chasers. We now have three home games on the trot, including our game in hand against Barnsley - we can kill it off over the next three games.

I'll take that. We looked brilliant in the opening 35 minutes with Mutch - Kimbo - Gunnarsson combination working spot on.

Obviously the game then got a bit scrappy, but can't complain with that. Bring on Barnsley now!

Would be an excellent time to get back to winning ways at home. This midfield combo does look much more balanced and lively than we have seen recently. They certainly dominated particularly in the first half and maybe with Campbell back, I can see them steamrollering over the likes of Barnsley & Charlton.

Turner may not have the best distribution but for every hoof there were 2 or 3 great tackles, blocks or headers. He is a no-nonsense defender of the highest order. My Man O'Match today ***Official Match Day Thread, Udinese Reserves v City*** - Page 4 1525230823

Turner was a real menace in their penalty area as well. Another day, one of the many headers he won would have lead to a goal.

Has to be said that Barnett is a big lump of no-nonsense as well. He too obviously understands his limitations and didn't take any chances at all.

Also, Superkev when he came on distributed the ball far more intelligently. It helps when you have Bellamy, Kimbo & Mutch, who are all good in possession.

Exactly gloves, the trio in centre midfield looked great. It's a shame it looks like Smith is finished now as we will have to buy a right winger in the summer...

And I like Barnett, he's cynical and dirty, which seems to be a prerequisite at the top level. Worth a bid as a utility defender next season
