I hereby exclude myself from being accused of a mare here, simply because my reaction when I saw this was to choke on my coffee in laughter.

To be fair, he's almost certainly heading to the MLS. I'd like to think we'd stand a damn good chance of winning the MLS league, afterall barring the encounters with Thierry Henry and the like they are still a very poor quality league. So if he wants to sign with a good team, we're a better choice...
