Very quiet on the working man's forum this evening, so presumably everybody either on night shift or out on the lash.......
This thread has been inspired by a brief exchange of views between Caldi et moi on Wales kit v Croatia and pizza.......
My view is that pizza has to be the most overrated and least value for money foodstuffs on offer in the UK today. As I see it, what you get is a portion of flour & water sparingly topped off with whatever is left in the fridge or on the floor. Costs about 25 p to make and chargeable at £££.........

Two pizzas in the oven... From Asda... See earlier thread... Bottle of Amerone... Warhorse ( ) on Sky... Perfect evening in with the missus
Pizzas play an essential role in maintaining matrimonial harmony and keeping you upright when you're shitefaced on a night out... What's not to love? Also had pizza in a medievalish street on a sunny day in Naples with a chilly bottle of falanghina... Good as life gets

I am a massive pizza fan, however you are correct in assuming the markup on said food item is anywhere between 40-75% profit depending on where you source the item...
You can't beat a good pizza though. Shame Domino's is now as expensive for two pizzas as a meal for two at Madeira's in town?

Ugh...chips or kebab from chippy lane...mind you it has moved on a lot since I saw Adam Jones lying on his back with a polystyrene tray of chips on his belly in the middle of the road

Deep pan or stuffed crust should not be associated with the term 'pizza'.
Thin and crispy only!
And don't get me started on some of the ludicrous toppings around these days.

Yeah that is a farcical addition to a pizza, stuffed crust. And deep pan detracts from the pizza itself.

You won't be offered Chicken Tikka on your pizza in the backstreets of Naples I suspect.

Classic (queen) Margherita.... Buffalo mozzarella and fresh tomato... Would never have been my first choice but absolutely extraordinarily delicious
