Why is it that managers can't see what the fans can?

Does the collective wisdom of 20,000 + fans have as much worth as 1 professional manager?
Why is that manager seem to miss what is so blatantly obvious to us fans?
FANS: Kenny Miller is out of form, and is in desperate need of a rest!
MALKY: No, he's fine. He is working hard and he'll start scoring again soon.
FANS: WHY O WHY are we playing route 1/long ball football?! Surely that defeats the point of having a 5 man midfield?
MALKY: Teams setup themselves up against us really deep and makes things difficult for us. Nothing wrong with the system.
FANS: Right, we are approaching the 70th minute, come on malky, Bellamy is being marked out of the game and surely there is more to our tactics then long balls up to Helguson. It's time for a change, bring on a couple of new faces!
MALKY: No. I'm going to wait until the 80th minute to make a change even though we have been crap the whole game and, tactically, things are just not working.
I just don't understand how some professional managers cannot see these simple things when we fans do. I know we are not pro's but if 20,000+ people are saying the same thing - surely it most hold some weight?
Someone help me out here

I think it's because it's easy for a fan to scream change it, they can without any consequence.
Should Makly have dropped Kenny for Gestede and Gestede went 5 games without scoring we'd all be saying 'Why is Malky paying Kenny 25k a week to get splinters in his arse? WE NEED GOALS".
And the fans are fond of singing for Earnie to come on, Malky sends him on and he just runs really fast for 20 minutes and fires a few spectacular looking shots into row z.

I guess we are all managers at heart but only the select few are able to do the job.

He must know better than us, as he has the benefit of significant analysis of the teams we are playing. Plus he sees the players off the field and I guess he can tell who wants to play the most, who is running low on confidence...sometimes I find it frustrating but I guess there's a reason I'm a retail manager not a football manager!

Because not everyone possesses the 200+ IQ brain that I do.
Just genetics. I could moan about managers and their faults but then I'd have to moan about the rest of civilisation as well. I just can't be touched. I have been blessed in more ways than one.

Probably doesn't play fifa12. Maybe he should have tried a few more options in Pre season. Then he might know as much some of our clearly "over qualified" fans.

Somehow, I don't see some of these 20 stone managers running laps up and down the steps to give directions happening anytime soon.*** G L O V E S *** wrote:Whilst on topic, I've always wondered why managers don't sit higher up into the stadium, you can see fack all from pitch level.

exactly all managers should sit high up.
its impossible to see tactically everything that is going on from pitch level.
i.e. when bellamy doesnt get any joy down the left because they have doubled up on him doesnt he switch to the right like other players do.

I guess it might depend on whether the player on the right is comfortable with switching to the left side or not.kairdiff wrote:exactly all managers should sit high up.

Managers need to be at pitch level in order to harangue the fourth official.

People could barely understand Capello at pitch level. If he was any further away he may as well have been back on a boat in Venice, Italy.

Malky has people sat in the stands who are looking for things that he can't see and are constantly sending info back to the bench. One sits a few seats from me but for some reason he never listens to me.
