Gameplay

• Attacking Intelligence - Players have the ability to analyse space, work harder and smarter to break down the defense, and think two plays ahead. Plus, players make runs that pull defenders out of position and open passing channels for teammates.
• Complete Dribbling - Face your opponent and use precise dribble touches combined with true 360-degree mobility with the ball. Be more creative and dangerous in 1v1 opportunities.
• 1st Touch Control - A new system transforms the way players control the ball, eliminating near-perfect touch for every player, and creating more opportunities for defenders to capitalise on errant balls and poor touches to win back possession.
• Improved Refereeing AI - An inproved system which will result in much fairer handing out of cards and fouls.
• Goalkeeper AI is also a lot better at helping stop any nasty point concessions caused by AI mess ups.
• Re-designed free kicks with more options when both attacking and defending them.
• A more refined player impact engine which has a larger effect on-the-ball as well as off-the-ball.
• Match Rating system will be upgraded
• We have new celebrations, new stadium entrance sequences, etc.
• Players are now stopping their runs so they are not offside. They are way more careful by doing baby steps to align on the defense.
• When receiving the ball, you now need to let the player the time to control it without pushing acceleration button.
• Now you can do real ball protection with your player to let it go out of the pitch or to accompany it to your GK. Nice improvement.
• It seems that ball is going faster
• Finesse shots are less powerful and clearly more hard to put into the box.
• Regarding shots, it looks like you need to be even more in good position than before to score. Way more realistic.

Career Mode

• As your reputation as a manager grows in Career Mode you will now be offered the chance to manage International teams in addition to the club side you are already playing with.
Your performance and manager reputation in Career Mode dictates the quality of the international offers you will receive.
• Your nationality and the league you manage in will also effect the type of International offers you receive.
Rumours about interested nations will circulate in the press for some months before you actually receive a firm offer. • Squad selection will be a key part of your International management duties and deadlines for selections (one week prior to friendlies, one month prior to tournaments) have to be met. International competitions will run in parallel with the club game meaning you could land a job in the middle of a qualifying campaign.
• International management has it’s own Career Mode “Hub” keeping your club and country separate.
• Whilst playing your Career Mode matches you’ll now receive audio updates from other games being played in your league voiced by Alan Mcinally and Geoff Shreeves.
The live updates cover goal, red card and penalty incidents.
Example – Shreeves: “Goal at Anfield, Fulham’s Clint Dempsey scores a brilliant freekick to make it 2-1, 73 minutes played” Tyler “Thanks Geoff”
• You can select/de-select the matches you want to hear audio updates from prior to playing starting your match.
• Interaction with players is now more regular with instant feedback received based on managerial decisions.
• Player Stories can now run for months in to Career Mode re-emerging if you go through a bad run of results or when you sell/buy a key player.
• Specific Player Stories also occur when managing an International team, meaning you’ll need to keep both club and country happy.
• Fan stories will now make top news in the press based on team performance.
• Once you’ve chosen your player (VP or real) you receive a set of Season Objectives to complete from the manager. The type of player you choose (forward, midfielder, defender, etc) will shape these objectives.
• As well as Season Objectives you’ll also be asked to achieve objectives every four matches. This could include, goals, clean sheets, pass/tackle completion percentages, etc. The quality of opposition over these four games will decide the values you are asked to achieve.
• If you are unhappy you now have the option to request a transfer, or request a loan to gain more match experience.
• If you choose to play for a top club with a low rated VP you will not be a first team starter to begin with, you’ll be loaned to gain experience first.
• If fatigued or playing poorly the manager can now substitute your player.
• Once your playing days are over can can opt to retire and take up management.
• After each Career Mode match you now receive a rundown of the classified results through in-game audio (think BBC Final Score)
• League table updates are also fed back to you as well as any upcoming fixtures. These audio sequences happen less regularly than the classified results.
When this audio is running you can still browse all Career Mode menus and continue to the next game week.
• You can now view any available managerial positions via the Jobs Board, this allows you to change clubs mid season should you wish to.
• Your manager now appears on the touchline in matches based on customisation options chosen at the start of Career Mode.
• The transfer system has been completely re-written for Career Mode in FIFA 13.
• You can now offer player plus cash and player trade deals to the CPU.
• When offering to loan players you can now set a future purchase price to sign the player permanently at the end of the loan period.
• When the CPU makes an offer for one of your players you can now choose to “Counter Offer” to ask for more money. The CPU will then choose to accept, reject or make a counter offer of their own.
• Contract negotiations now contain advice from your Chief Executive which act as a guide to what they think the club and player may want.
• When offering contracts you can now choose a role for the player you’re trying to sign eg Crucial Player, Important Player, Future Star. This expectation will effect whether a player chooses to join your club.
• Prior to making a firm offer you can now make an Enquiry to find out whether a player is available and how much the club want for them.
• You can now make offers for players directly from media stories by pressing the left stick.
• A new Financial Strictness setting will limit the percentage of players sales that go back in to your transfer budget (chosen at the start of CM).
• A new “Sky Sports” style overlay will now deliver breaking and top news to the Career Mode hub.
• You now have the ability to edit player appearance during your Career Mode seasons. This option can be unlocked via the new EASFC Catalogue.
• You can now read news articles from the media pane whilst the game is advancing.
• The first time you enter Career Mode menus a tutorial overlay appears to guide you through each panes function.
• Both the Youth System and player growth are being upgraded (They said it's gonna be MUCH BETTER).
• You can get fired at any point/browse for other jobs/ receive other job offers.
• You can manager both national and another team at the same time.
• Once you are managing a national team, you have to resign if you want to get new offers.
• You can't choose the teams to play against in friendly games.
• You can choose the kick-off time if you want. And we also have dynamic lighting in several stadiums so you will see the difference.
• Transfers will be much more realistic this year.
• You can redeem lots of cool CM stuff with the EASFC Catalogue (New boots and other cool stuff).
• You can 'unlock' the option to edit players inside CM from the catalogue.
• You can now ask for extra transfer funds from your board, but you may have to commit to higher objectives.
• You can decide to 'stall' offers from national teams. The contract will have an expiry date, but you will continue to receive offers.
• You will have to negotiate a lot with CPU managers.
• If you are managing a smaller club you will still get national team offers but you won't get offers from the best. For example,to get the Spain or Brazil job, you need to be successful in a top club.
• If you do well in the top league, that country's FA will be more interested in you. Same goes for your nationality.
• The best offers will only come starting on the second season, once you've made a name for yourself as a manager.
• AI Managers of the national teams will call up players, who will then leave your club for a short period if that is the case.
• Player-Manager is no longer a mode. You can either be a Manager or a Player, and choose to retire as a player to become a manager.
• Is the world cup in the game? We will have a World Championship that will follow the same format (Meaning the World Cup won't be licensed).
• If you play as player mode you can hand in a transfer request/leave the club at any point.
• It will have better and more varied cup celebrations.

• Fitness has been redesigned to make fitness recovery items more important.
• Morale – The scales have shifted! Neutral morale is the default and you’ll have to manage your squad to get high morale.
• Players expect to play and win to keep high morale. Players with low morale recover to neutral faster.
• You can now challenge the Team of the Week for a reward every week.
• New manager tasks help teach you the mid-level tasks of running a club. Complete them all for a special reward!

• There will be five divisions in Seasons to prove your Ultimate Team abilities.
• Single-player Seasons in FUT have eligibility requirements. Online, it’s all about bringing your very best squad.
• You can now access your Ultimate Team information at any time through the EA SPORTS mobile app or the FIFA website.
• At the end of every season in FUT there will be prizes based on how well your squad performed.

H2H Seasons

• Seasons will be expanding with a new 2v2 online co-op mode and persistent squad saves. Division titles will be available for all divisions. And there’s a new trophy cabinet! Add trophies to your collection as you progress through the game.

Leagues & Clubs

• Czech Gambrinus Liga
• Saudi Professional League
• MLS All Stars

Nations

• Saudi Arabia
• Venezuela
• Colombia
• There will be over 50 national teams in the game.

Stadiums

• White Hart Lane
• King Fahd Stadium
• One new nameless generic stadium

Other

• FIFA 13 with Kinect enables you to use voice commands to manage your club’s lineup and tactics without pausing the game, shout directions on the pitch in Be A Pro, and forces you to temper the way you talk to officials.
• A new addition for FIFA 13 are Skill Games, incorporated into the game using the new physics capabilities that came with the Impact Engine. On the surface it looks like they’re aimed at newcomers to FIFA (which they are) but they should also offer seasoned players a way to see areas of the games controls that they might not know about too.

• UK: 28th September

Demo

• Release date: 11th September
• Teams: AC Milan, Arsenal, Borussia Dortmund, Juventus, Manchester City

All sounds great, as I said my most recent console FIFA was 10 (I have 12 on handheld), and I find it very very buggy. I once scored two goals in one match via rebounding them off the referees face, who was inexplicably wandering around the penalty box. While technically plausible in reality, and also very funny, it did feel very cheap. Also every now and again one of my strikers would set up base camp BEHIND the opponents goal and refuse to leave it, that was pretty annoying. And the time I was passing the ball along my midfield line and the opposition goalkeeper came flying like a bat out of hell at me, well past the halfway line.

So yeah, looking forward to it FIFA 13 Ultimate Thread 692773407

All sounds very positive as FIFA 12 was a big step forward in my opinion BUT no player-manager mode? Whyyyyyyyy? That's the one I play most.

I would love to do this to someone online. Just imagining now the type of responses I would get in terms of abuse. FIFA 13 Ultimate Thread 692773407

They haven't released the exact date but it tends to be the end of October, as that gives them enough time to update all the European leagues after the transfer windows close. I used to be on Football Manager as a UWIC player. Don't think I'm on the new one

I'll post when they release the date. Apparently try are going to reveal a demo and the sale date sometime in September, presumably to build some anticipation

Bought last years on the day it came out, haven't played it since. Nothing to do with the game itself, just cba any more.

May not even buy this years for the first time in about 10 years
