The weather is miserable. Unlike other bank holidays, there is nothing noteworthy going on on the sporting front (why not? why isn't there a test match scheduled for today? why didn't they start the paralympics this weekend?). As pointed out elsewhere, there is no Disney Time on television, nor do we have the traditional Miss Marple to fall back on - the TV schedule is pretty rubbish.

Is there nobody in charge any more?

It's strange because this bank holiday falls in the summer holidays, meaning it's nothing special for most.

I've just been to see The Watch in the cinema... gutted I thought it was the Colonel's life story but turned out it was a hybrid alien comedy affair... OK at best... still pissing down
