Is he good enough ?
like many games at home last season our tactics were very poor .
just wondered what others on here think.

He is more than good enough to be our manager but I think 451 is abit negative at home tbh.
Look its the first game of the season and I guess he just wanted to flood the midfield and not lose it,Im sure the team will be chopped and changed as the season goes on.

I think our tactics were poor last season because we had a very small squad so had very few options as far as substitutions and formation were concerned.
This season we have a larger and stronger squad, and hopefully one or two more to be added, plus there look to be one or two good youth players coming through.
Malky is going to be a good manager, he is relatively inexperienced and not the finished article, he will make mistakes as even the worlds best managers do, we should show a bit of faith in him like the club has by giving him a good contract.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, Scotsmen have had their day. The energising effect of the movie Braveheart has been slowly running down over the last 6 or 7 years.
We need to be looking for an Italian to take the helm, still riding high from the latest installment of the Rocky franchise.

Why not we could add it into part of the rebranding
I think Malky is. He has a great approach, clearly has a plan and the players all want tot play for him.
I actually think it was a great result on Friday, not a great performance but a great result. Huddersfield were no mugs and clearly up for the game, to come away with all three points was no mean feat.
You also only have to look at our run in at the end of last season to see that Malky has built a team of fighters who are difficult to beat (unless, of course, you have the resources of West Ham). I still think we overachieved spectacularly last season and I think we all need a reality check on that.
City tend to have a habit of coming out of the blocks flying, getting themselves into a great position by Christmas then slowly sliding down the table and hanging on for grim death at the end. Getting us fans hopes up before ultimately being disappointed.
I'd much prefer us to grind out results now and hit form in the second half of the season. Look at Reading last season. They were blindingly average (we beat them convincingly, twice) until about Feb/Mar when they suddenly went on an incredible run of form and convincingly won the division.
Arguably, Malky has better and more varied attacking options this season as well as building up the midfield. We are short in defence, but hopefully that will change. If it takes a bit of time to gel and to hit the right form then so be it. As long we are there or thereabouts by March, that is when we really need to up our game.
Remember, it's a marathon* not a sprint.
