Wales Memories

I've been quiet on here of late (although I read regularly) due to horrid working circumstances. A rare Sunday off and some reminiscing about the summer led me to believe that we really didn't dwell long enough on what was a FANTASTIC Euro tournament for all but Red on here.

For those who managed to make it to a game or Fanzone, or even watch it with friends in a local pub, what were you favourite memories of Wales' pretty darn impressive journey?

For me, outside of the games themselves, it was the night after the game in Bordeaux, about 2am, outside an Oirish bar in a back street, playing football piggy in the middle with a group of valleys lads, some French and a few Slovaks. All of us quite drunk, merry, joking around and crap at football. Such a great atmosphere and togetherness, even when we bounced the ball off several locals' cars and they didn't even seem that bothered. I'll always remember that!

I'm not excluding you Red - feel free to submit your favourite Wales memories too

It has to be actually living here and for Dutch friends to say that they finally understood what being Welsh meant as opposed to the usual preconception that the entire UK is "English".

(The French already know that because of the rugby connection.)

Fantastic support for our team

- Watching the opening game of the tournament in the Bordeaux fanzone. Great scenes when that goal went in.

- Whole matchday experience for Slovakia game - playing footie in the streets, walking to ground, leaving ground on a high.

- Spending a few days in the port town of La Rochelle with about 30 City fans was a pleasant surprise.

- Night in Arras before Eng game with 1,500 Eng and Wal fans mixed

- Getting to look around Paris and take in the sights

- The scenes after the game in Toulouse

Did we play football together Gloves?

I randomly bumped into some old school friends who I hadn't seen in twenty years and grabbed a couple of beers with them - it was that kind of event.

Also, the perplexed look on my (Engerlish) girlfriend's face when my best friend and I hugged after the third Welsh goal against Belgium and then proceeded to sit down and genuinely agree that we'd "still lose" because "things like this don't happen to Wales".

Can't remember the name of the pub but it was before the match, with a local on the balcony to help out each time the ball got lodged. Watched the Belgique game in Depot, Cardiff - unbelievable scenes for all three goals.
