Is 'league one' an appropiate answer?
On the topic, I wonder if anyone is still stupid enough to think Tan genuinely plans on still converting the debt into equity...

Tan not converting debt to equity was price to pay for rebrand reversal

Even if it hadn't happened, I don't think he would of converted. The rebrand reversal has improved general mood, but it's made zero impact on our league position.
He changed his mind so that we would hopefully not notice that he's slowly selling all our prized assets. Then when he runs out he'll sell and cripple us with Langston level debts all over again.

I don't think the figures would be as bad as you imagine. A certain amount is going to be written off, for sure, but the belt-tightening and sale of players we are seeing will go towards the closure of the black hole that we have become. The parachute payments then become less critical to the day to day running of the club and Tan can quite ligitimately call in these against his debt.
At the end of that exercise, there may come a day when it makes sense to convert to equity. At the moment, why should Tan write off a huge amount of capital by converting it into equity in a worthless shambles of a club?

Yes the parachute payments would help, but we also just built a huge stadium expansion - how much did that cost? Lee also don't quite know how much debt the premiership year put us in, or how much we lost to excessive wags under Ole. The parachute payments are substantial, but I don't think they'd get anywhere near close enough to fil the hole.
Besides, Tan cost cutting and leaving us with a team thats increasingly looking like league one quality nakes Jo sense of you also assume he does still have a long term plan with us and wants premier league football again? What merit is there in crippling the team unless you are stripping out ready for a sale?

I think he is ambivilous about the whole thing. Promotion to the PL would require another significant input of cash to make a better fist of it than last season. I think Tan looks at the risk involved in finding the right manager and players and says "s*d that for a game of soldiers", we'll stay where we are comfortable for the time being.
