These are the games where we must expect to pick up points. Absolute minimun of 2 or it's going to be Good Night Vienna!

I thought villa was a team we would have to have beaten, its just more of a case which team turns up on the day, we showed that against city and utd, Although I think palace will be the hardest of the two, cos out of the two if I had to choose a game to win I'd say palace and draw stoke, prob be vice versa,

4, win and a draw.

If we're a midtable side we should be looking at averaging 2 points a game against teams in the bottom half. That would give us a tidy 40 points, plus any bonuses we get from the other 19 matches.

Definitely the biggest week of our season so far. I had no nerves before the United and Arsenal games, whereas I'm already on edge ahead of the trip to Stoke. We really can't afford to lose either game, but at this stage I feel draws aren't good enough either. I'll go with one victory and one draw.

I think somebody on one of the other boards has put our season and perhaps the importance of the next week or so in context very nicely.

They have pointed out that we have 12 home games left and we must win 7 or 8 of those. Given that we have only managed two in the first seven, that might be quite an ask, so, that puts even more emphasis on the need to do better away from home against the lower order teams.

As Gloves says, draws may not be good enough in the long run, although I'll take anything other than losses at this stage and hope for a decent run of home results........

As others have quite rightly said, it's important we start pulling results from these winnable games. Afterall, nicking points from the big teams is only beneficial to the season if we are also picking up the points we SHOULD win. I'd rather get hammered by United but beat Stoke, than get a draw from United but lose to Stoke.

I don't care who we beat or how, as long as we survive at the end of the season. Pulis will pull out all the stops to prevent us getting a result and Stoke aren't that bad at present, so I find it difficult to predict the score. But I won't be too worried as there is plenty of the season left should the results not be great.

2 points will do for me.
Avoiding defeat against relegation rivals is a must.

............and it was only one!  That wouldn't be so bad, if the performances had been convincing, but they weren't.

Anyone tempted to join Dave and me on the Dark Side.......Red maybe......?

Yes, Im afraid I'm starting to think tan is not so silly after all... Perhaps we do need someone else to come in and give it a go.

A chequebook the size of his should land us with the quality of a manager such as Shearer perhaps coat

Not quite yet. I still think he deserves a chance to redeem himself - this is his first true prolonged c**k-up in the premiership. Afterall he's done for us we owe him a chance to put his hands up, admit he got it wrong but then fix it. If that moment doesn't come soon then get my red lightsaber Crystal and darth maul face paint ready.
