In my defence, I am not anti-Malky in the least! He did a wonderful job for City in the Championship, in getting promotion, even if the football was dire.
However, the signs were there that he would have trouble stepping up to a level he had barely played at and had trouble relating to and attracting better quality players.
Malky is a man for the Championship and I think Palace will regret the appointment if it happens.

May be academic, as it appears that Tim Sherwood is the new favourite.

I saw this as well. I think there was a lot more to the Malky v Tan issue (as highlighted by Malky's public apology). A few teams seem to have happily passed him over for jobs, such as Celtic, West Brom, Norwich and Palace. West Brom and Norwich even appointed relatively unknown coaches from within their existing setup over Malky, whereas 12 months ago he would have seemingly walked into those jobs.

Most bookmakers have suspended betting on Malky becoming new Palace manager, he is supposed to be having another meeting with the board this afternoon. Good luck to him, looks a done deal.

I'm sure you take no pleasure in being right in this matter. If you do, you are probably in danger of turning into your old man.
