Very surprising Rhys. He did an incredible job turning their season around last year. On your other point then let's all hope that Ole does well enough to be here in October and indeed all season .... but if things did go wrong and Pulis was still available i would have him here in an instant.

It appears he had missed some of his transfer targets for financial reasons and after a meeting with the Chairman he walked.
Malky for Palace?

If it's Palace that forced his hand that's a shocking way to treat him, he single handedly saved their season.
Isn't Malky still being linked with the Celtic job? He's been spotted at a couple of matches now.

Malky might be remembered mostly by some people for wasting huge amounts of money but he has probably done his best work as a manager when operating on a more limited budget. If that is what we are talking about here, and with Moody already at the club, this coud actually be quite feasible.

City gent has just claimed that Vincent Tan approached Tony Pulis to offer him the City job while Malky was still in charge, but he refused to step on Malkys toes. Fascinating if he's telling the truth, and mighty depressing.

I heard that too, though it was my understanding Pulis had turned down the palace job at the start as he was told the Cardiff job was becoming available and only took the Palace job as Malky wasn't sacked when they planned too

That's what Slumdog Snr and I had assumed. I would imagine he may well now turn down any jobs in order to see how OGS performs, but I think we will go up.
Appalling by Palace though. Truly dreadful. In many ways I'm pleased though as they will probably go back down again now

Do you think any Premiership manager will be looking over their shoulder if they have a slow start?

Malky looks to be the favourite, but I wonder what Fraizer Campbell thinks of that............looking forward to another season of slogging it out on his own up front............

I've just talked about the boards inappropriate uncle, and now we come to the boards resident anti-Malkyist...
Seriously though, I don't think it's likely. Campbell isn't their only striker and the fans will grow restless if Dwight Gayle is left benched, likewise Cameron Jerome was also starting to show what he could do. Zaha is supposed to be interested in coming back on loan, so between him and Bolasie they should have some excellent pace on the wings (assuming Zaha can be bothered this time).
They're spoilt for option in attack, it's just the defence people are querying. Malky is exactly the sort of man you want to address that.

It will certainly be interesting to see how Malky sets them up, as they are a very different team on paper to the one that he built at Cardiff
