Liverpool should have learnt from the Andy Carroll fiasco.

Brendan Rogers is also the man that paid £15million for Joe Allen, by that logic £25million is pretty good...

Considering his age, it's ludicrous. If he was 21 I could maybe see it as he would be showing real promise, but he's very much the wrong side of a footballers peak age. You have one, maybe two seasons left of him playing at that performance level. He's also still not a patch on Hazard,Cazorla, Ozil etc.

What are Liverpool playing at anyway? They lost the title based purely on poor defending, but their first transfer action is to spend 29 million on a midfielder and a striker?
