If this is true

Peter Odemwingie - undoubtedly the fall guy of the last transfer window in January - looks set to get his move away from West Brom this time round. The Nigeria striker is set to join Cardiff for £4million, according to Sky sources.

Malky is panic buying, never worth half of that, and a 3 year deal.

Since when has Walesonline been a reliable source?

Don't believe for a minute it's £4 million, but maybe £3 mill., and that is over the odds.

"Cardiff's latest signing can play up front or out wide and boasts a superb record of one goal in every three matches for West Brom."

Straight from the article and an impressive stat if true. Of course, it depends on how many games he's played though. Hopefully more than three!

Finally a replacement for tired old Bellamy. It's my view that Bells should be a squad player this season. His first touch is usually shocking, his finishing is extremely poor as is his p-p-passing. (All my opinion of course).

Put it this way, I would rather see Bellamy dropped than Whitts ( who potentially could be if bells is moved to the right side)

Thing is Rhys, we're replacing 34 year old Bellamy with 32 year old Odemwingie, it's like trading in your crappy old Fiesta for a crappy old Corsa.

It does at least give us more options and if this works then I couldn't be happier, but I'd of preferred someone with a little less controversy and a lot less miles on the clock.

Very strange signing, a bit in the Tommy Smith mode, perhaps with one season in mind, then move on to someone younger.

Nevertheless, the fact remains that we have failed to land a class winger with what amounted to an open chequebook, but we have to settle for the consolation of an aging player that nobody else will touch. A very poor show indeed.........

I wouldn't be too harsh TDA, even if this is a disappointing end to our business we have still had one of the best windows of any premiership team. Medel is one of the finest players to ever wear a CCS shirt, we have an English international in our defence and we finally have the target man we've wanted.

The first Nigerian to play for City?

Scratch that, the first African to play for City? (I'm excluding French-born Gestede)

Anybody know this kind of thing?

Oh lets give TDA his moment. Malky has obviously chased bigger name targets and not been able to land them for this position so is reverting to a signing which probably is further down the pecking order.

I suspect that without the big money signings and the chasing of higher profile targets no one would have worried too much about this one. Now it just looks and to be fair is less than inspiring compared to the names mentioned.

Malky has failed to land his targets here so Malky must be roundly criticised.

This is going to be a long season on the messageboard even if we do well.

Perhaps something more positive about this move is that if Laudrup was also interested, then POO (yes, you heard it here first, those are his initials) must be reasonable player...........Odemwingie 1525230823
