I'll start by pointing out I'm a hypocrite. I hated him when he was here and I slated him for blaming Malky for his poor performances when he went to Stoke.
I've just watched MOTD though and he looked alight the whole match, and scored for the third match running. Comparing him to Kenwyne Jones who even seems to be a waste of space sat on the bench, and I grudgingly admit maybe he was right and was just played out of position. We got the wrong end of that deal.

He might've prospered under OGS' system but it's all ifs and maybes.
I'm with you though - I liked him as a player but wasn't sorry to see him go.
Hindsight is a wonderful thing...

He has said recently that he wasn't happy with Malky's ultra conservative system and that showed in his performances.
I was also disappointed to see him go, likewise Cornelius. Neither had any real impact at the club, but Tan was simply using them to make a point - selling them highlighted Malky's 'failed transfers'.

We let him go because when he played for us it was like we were missing a player. Good for him doing well for Stoke but when we meet Jones better had come out better that day

Well I do think our ultra conservative style earlier in the season didn't get the best out of him (as has already been stated) and unfortunately now Stoke are playing to his strengths he's scoring regularly
