God I hope that's wrong or the price is beaten down. On the universal scale of transfers, is he really worth 3.5 michu's? They raise a good point that its a hell of a lot of money for a striker with only 3 goals in 25 appearances this season.

His record at least in the premiership is comparable to our own Frazier Campbell. You could say Campbell's 1 goal in 12 games is pretty much the same as his 3 in 25, but you can definetely say Campbell's 1 in 12 last year was much better than Jones' 1 in 25 the same year. Campbell's younger too, and British.
I wouldn't go as far as saying he couldn't do a job here, Gestede is our standout target man but Jones has a far greater pedigree. I will definetely say however i think anything over 2 million would be a ridiculous price, especially considering how proud Malky has been in declaring he won't pay inflated prices.

Is there a Ministry of Misinformation somewhere that sends out daily bulletins linking City with strikers who don't score goals?
It could nevertheless be a good thing that our links with Messi and Lewandowski have gone unreported - but could they play together anyway?

I doubt we will sign both Lewandowski and Messi as they don't get on with Cristiano Ronaldo, who we are also signing

I've heard the Messi deal has stalled since he started having trial training sessions with us, reportedly due to his concerns he might not be able to hold down a first team spot with competition from behemoths like Velikonja and Helguson.

Helguson's probable retirement reignites the possibility of a Velikonja/Messi partnership next season.

I would rather Gestede than Kenwyne Jones.

Why pay £7mill for a player that we already more or less have and who's half Jones' age.

In reality, it looks like Malky is looking further afield than Stoke.......

If he teamed up with Tommy Smith up front, some might find our forward line something of a joke, alas.Arkay Dubya wrote:Maybe Malky thinks with a surname like Jones he might endear himself to us Welsh fans?

I'm going to start making up a football chant about the men in black playing up front, just in case.
