Congratulations for the most vague topic in the history of Redbluebirds Vinnie, is damn well hope that at some point in his life time Maynard will return, but it would be nice to have a timescale

We don't need him back so badly that he gets injured again. I'd rather see him fighting fit for next season in the Premiership. It would be assign of massive panic on MM's part to push Maynard for a start this season.

I would be very surprised to see Maynard play for the first team again this season..
More likely to see Velcro, IMHO.....

As has been said before here, Maynards injury is one that you don't want to rush into recovery, as there's a chance it could blow all over again and potentially end his career. Especially in our situation, where in theory promotion is guaranteed, the risk massively outweighs the gain of having him back. I'd like to think he may well play a critical role in our premiership survival, so I'm much happier to wait about longer and see him fully fit ready to play our first game in the new season.

A development game soon? There is only a play off semi final and hopefully a final to play.
Maynard comes on as substitue in the 85th minute of the semi final to score the winning goal. Plays the first 70 minutes of the final before being withdrawn but by then it is irrelevant as he has his hat trick and 2 assists and the development side has already done enough to win the final. Leaves the pitch with the team 7-0 up (Velcro has scored the other 4) and winks to Velcro who doesn't fully understand what it means until he sees Maynard's name on the subs bench for the next game for the first team.
Maynard comes on with 78 minutes gone and turns around a 1-2 defecit with another hat trick which sees us win the game 4-2 clinching the title at the same time.
Following his first team goal scoring exploits Maynard never plays for the club again.
Sounds plausible to me.

Call me a sceptic if you like but a game of head tennis with the first team squad doesn't bear comparison with a game of FL Championship football.
I'm filing this under M for 'mare.

I think someone has got the wrong end of the stick and the real story and headline should read Maynard's Likely To Be Returned referring to the likely outcome of Malky's anger over his wine gums going missing.

Only sheer desperation would see Malky bringing Nicky back this season.
