Villa on the lookout for Cardiff 'Bargains'
Page 1 of 1 • Share
Apperently we have recently been scouted by Villa who are "on the look-out for bargain buys from the Championship with Cardiff City's Matthew Connolly recently under scrutiny."

If they go down this season, they are looking at Connelly.
Question is though, if Cardiff do go up, would be looking to get rid of him? I don't know, he seems solid and should probably still be apart of the squad next year.

tend to agree about him being with us, unless of course we had £12 m to spend on chris samba
Hmmm, I would expect him to be one of the faces that Malky would move on to be honest or he'll face being a squad player. I think he's great but perhaps not quite up to Premiership standard.

Versatile squad player; I expect him to stay regardless of promotion.

I don't expect anyone that's been anywhere near regular to leve in our first premiership year. Outsiders like Gestede, Earnie and McPhail (if he wants first team football) might well find themselves out, but what you don't want to do is immediately get rid of half the team that won you promotion in the first place.

i think he will keep his 1st team regulars and then add to strengthen. think he will also keep those with real potential like ralls. it is the fringe players that may well dip out

If we do get to the Prem we are going to have to keep the ball a lot better than we do currently. As much as I love Turner and Hudson as defenders Big Ben's diagonal balls to nowhere and Hudson's two yard taps to Whittingham will be eaten up by Premier league opposition. Connolly can pass and carry the ball from the centre half position and we'll need that ability.

I wonder how much of the ball hoofing is just them following Malkys tactical instructions?
Agree, we will need to change and adjust quickly or we will get destroyed.
