I think this will be an interesting exercise in how low a club can go. It seems so far, most Scottish clubs have taken a moral rather than financial stance, which is refreshing, different and if you ask me (which you didn't) the right thing to do.

While I feel sympathy for the Rangers fans, making an example of the club is going to be a strong deterrent to any future "over spenders".

I haven't asked you about morality in the past but I will now do so in future, if that is morally acceptable?

Not really. All it will do is make the game more unbalanced. The likes of City, United and Chelsea can spend big and keep growing whilst others will be more cautious knowing there is a higher chance of them going into administration or liquidation. That is the problem with such a system.

Having 3-5 top teams able to overspend at their owners content and others being too scared to due to the financial implications is one of the things ruining the competition of the game.

The Financial Fair Play rules wont make a difference either. The top clubs will find loopholes to get around them.

Whilst the upright moral stance of the SPL clubs is to be applauded, the lower that Rangers sink the more it will impact on Scottish football generally and other clubs in particular, as it will hit gate receipts, TV sponsorship, etc etc.

This is known as the Double-Edged Sword of Morality. Not that I know anything about it, Arkay is the official MB spokesperson on morality issues.

It's a joke, I'm no fan of Scottish football in the first place but Celtic are the only team capable of winning the title.... It was boring before but now!!

Yeah, get your money on Celtic. And with Rangers gone it's one less team for Malky to plunder players from.

Point taken and yes it's true, the air is much cleaner up here on my high ground.

ITV could make a show of this every week to show the voting live on air to see which league they eventually end up in. Whilst having club officials coming on begging for mercy.
