I am sure that things will go crazy on the football and transfer front very soon, but until they do lets have at least some controversy on here and talk about the drum.
I presume that last season was something of a trial. Does anyone know the plans for the coming season?
As this is 'the thinking man's' forum i would love to know the consensus view on here.

I SIT in the family stand and can clearly hear the drum from our end. It sounds good to me.

Its a bit of a curate's egg, for some chants it work well and keeps the noise levels consistent but sometimes its just an embarrassing 'mare frankly

I agree.
Sometimes it helps generate atmosphere but a lot of time it does does the opposite. The drummer is sometimes a bit self indulgent or panders to a few rather than thinking what will encoourage the majority.
At least the club are trying to generate some atmosphere, although I think a winger and a striker would be more effective.

I voted against the drum. I also stated that chants should be included in the programmes because not a lot of people know the words to many of them.
Would help a lot.

I suppose we'll be subjected to The Death March then!? Might be an improvement.

The one that most appealed to me was "over there..... over there"
I hear the sound of distant bums
over there over there
and do they smell
etc

Exactly. I've been singing "Your gonna get your clucking eggs chicken" for years and only now I see it was wrong. At least I've been getting "Some skill! We are not cheap baggers" right.
