Remember that 'premier league striker' we were hunting for in the loan window? That might not be happening - newest news is instead we are taking Charltons Tony Watt on loan.
Really hope this is wrong. Depressing to think we might have now sunken low that we are now picking up youth players who can't even get into teams in the bottom half of the championship...

Oh - and Tony Watt didn't play for Charlton this weekend, because he was injured.
Slade loves a crocked player...

The 21-year-old striker looks set to wrap up his move to the Welsh club tomorrow.
Watt started the season with a bang - notching in his first three games of the campaign - but has failed to find the next since.
And he recently exclusively spoke to the South London Press about his struggles for form - slamming some of his recent displays.
Watt had an instant impact when he joined from Standard Liege in the January transfer window, producing livewire displays that made him an instant hit with fans.
But the former Celtic youngster has been unable to scale those heights once his early season goal glut ended.
Cardiff boss Russell Slade spoke at the end of the week about his push to bring in a frontman.
Watt’s departure means that Charlton’s frontline options go back down - unless it frees up funds to make a signing before this week’s deadline for emergency loans.
Ricardo Vaz Te has already been brought in for the rest of the season while Ademola Lookman, 18, has also been promoted to the senior set-up.
Charlton did fail with a loan attempt to bring Yann Kermorgant back to The Valley recently - with AFC Bournemouth unwilling to let the French go due to a shortage of centre-forwards

Never heard of him, but looks useful if You Tube is to be believed.

He scored the winner against Barcelona for Celtic a few years back, which to be fair is a pretty decent claim to fame. If I allow myself to be optimistic he also has bags of pace which is something our attack desperately needs.
Still disappointed if our aspiration is that low however.

Reminds me of Joe Mason but with pace. Have a look at the " time wasting" clip on YouTube.

We could sign Cristiano Ronaldo but it wouldn't make a blind bit of difference. No one can set up the chances for any striker at the Club

Maybe, but they've also had no one to aim for. It's hard to create chances when all you have in front of you is Kenwyne Jones standing still.
I complied Charlton's season preview at the start of the season, which took a fair bit of research. Picked out Watt as their 'Player to Watch' this season after his strong end to the last campaign.
But there is no way he adds anything that Le Fondre, for example, didn't already offer.
Really expected us to bring in a PL-quality striker.

Don't think a PL player would be interested in coming to Cardiff, given how poorly Slade can relate to quality players . Too much to lose by bombing at City.
