A midfield general, and a striker capable of breaking land speed records.

The midfield general goes without saying, but I'm crisp as to whether we need the striker considering Ameobi has proven capable of stepping up to that role - he even worked pretty well as a lone striker.

However - cheeky loan bid for Frazier Campbell anyone? He lives on the bench at palace nowadays anyway.

Really? Marshall is the best keeper in the league, our centrebacks are also top quality (if Slade finally decides to pick Manga and Connolly), Fabio is doing surprisingly well on both sides of the pitch, Peltier doesn't set the world alight but keeps the right side safe, Dikgacoi is looking half decent now he's playing regularly, Mason and Ameobi look a very promising duo and Kenwyne Jones continues to score.

The only place I reckon is a little worrying is the wings - id probably be looking for a new winger before we look to replace our strikers.

And they are still not good enough, the side is an average mid table team.
As for Marshall apart possibly,Manga, Connolly, Fabio and Dikgachoi, aren't top quality or PL standard.
Unfortunately we won't see Premier League football in the near future.
