Formed in 1925 following a merger between Rotherham Town and Rotherham County. Known as the Millers, quite where they get that nickname from is beyond me unless it has something to do with their style of play. Not only that Rotherham United play at the New York stadium. The mind boggles, maybe it was built at a knock down price. I kid you not, but the north stand is the KCM Recycling Stand and the West Stand is the Pukka Pies Stand.
Anyway to business, we are entertained by a newly promoted side at the recently completed 20,021 capacity stadium. Rotherham move out of the drop zone on the back of a late Arnason winner against Millwall who now drop into the relegation area. We travel north on the back of a spirited, but ultimately a loosing performance against wolverhampton.

Rotherham United boss Steve Evans has praised his side's character following their 2-1 victory over Millwall.
The Millers eased their relegation worries in the Championship on Saturday as they turned around a half-time deficit to beat the Lions at the New York Stadium.
Rotherham, who had failed to win any of their previous four games, are now six points clear of the relegation zone.
"It was a lot of character shown," Evans told BBC Sport. "We got them in at half time and they were feeling a little bit sorry for themselves. I told them to relax and that I'd stand in front of them whatever happened.
"It helps when we get the early goal but it would have been a travesty if we don't win the game because we have laid siege to their goal."
Evans's team continue their league campaign on Tuesday when they entertain Cardiff City.
So to Cardiff City
Cardiff manager Russell Slade:
"The owner was very pleased and he thought we were unlucky. He spoke to the players before the game and I have spoken to him afterwards and he was happy with what he had seen.
"We deserved something from that and the changing room is a bit down and we will have to do some work picking them up.
"Losing Peter Whittingham seemed to galvanise us and we had a couple of chances which on another day might have gone in."
TEAM NEWS
Rotherham captain Craig Morgan has suffered a knee problem and will face a late fitness test.
Midfielder Adam Hammill may start after coming off the bench and impressing at the weekend in the win over Millwall.
Cardiff midfielder Peter Whittingham serves a one-match suspension after he was sent off in the loss to Wolves.
Fellow midfielders Conor McAleny and Tom Adeyemi could feature, while Matthew Connolly and Lee Peltier look likely to continue at full back.

From the youtube highlights, we didn't look that bad. Defence - Connolly in particular - was appalling, but if it wasn't for some goal line heroics on more than one occasion from Wolves we could of scored three or four. Doyle and Jones continue to be a very promising pairing with Doyle possessing the pace and technical ability to compliment Jones more physically dominating style. Noone also put in some very good dead balls once Whitts passed on the honour - if he can continue to do so then we would be hard pushed to find a space to put Whitts back in. Give Adeyemi a go and let's hope he puts such blistering performances in that Whitts has no choice but to look on and take a hard look at himself.

Rotherham is at the ar*e-end of Sheffield. Anecdotally, when Sheffield won a prestigeous award for being cleanest or most improved industrial city in Europe, it was because the steel industry had moved everything to Rotherham.
The nickname The Millers has nothing to do with steel mills, it has more to do with flour milling. The old ground was Millmoor, more to do with the area it was situated in and the production of Hovis!

Be interesting to see what style of play we bring into the match. If Slade sticks to his rigid 4-4-2 formation or changes it around.
my prediction: Rotherham 0-1 Cardiff
my prediction: Rotherham 0-1 Cardiff

Looks like Revell might get a start over Jones tonight, but I have had to smile at Slade's comments below about having "got rid of him" previously. Obviously he has not always rated him as highly as he does now. Perhaps he is yet another player who plays better under another manager, or maybe just upped his game against Slade..........
Slade commented: “He’s going back to his old club and maybe that’s the ideal time to unleash him, to let him go.
“He has hurt me a time or two since I got rid of him when I was manager at Orient.”

The most interesting aspect of tonight's game is how we get on without Whittingham. Slade has been unwilling to drop him yet, but he obviously has little choice this evening: http://www.shoot.co.uk/category/team/whittingham-still-has-a-part-to-play/
